The Jetty
In my childhood there were no cold winter days or even rain. Only summer in my memory. Every day was sunny and for swimming. I remember days of jumping with other kids off the wooden jetty into the water.Climbing up the ladder, running and doing it again. Endlessly. Looking up at the sky that was so bright it hurt my eyes. Cool blue water depths and fun. Paint on the faded sign like the skin on my nose, peeling year after year. The sign that said, No Jumping.
